Adult or Child Disability Payment (Scotland) - how to upload your document

Upload a photo of your Adult Disability Payment or Child Disability Payment letter from Social Security Scotland, showing the whole letter edge to edge and dated within the last two years.

Step 1 - Take a photo of your ADP or CDP Award or a recent letter about your ADP / CDP Award.

Photo should show all the details we need to verify:

Your NI reference
The entire letter, edge to edge
Your name and address details
A future expiry date.

If your ADP or CDP letter does not show the award end date, then the letter must not be older than two years.

What if the expiry date is on the next page?

Please upload the next page after the first one by going back to the beginning and uploading another document.

Step 2 - Review this checklist before you upload

Check your photo:

show whole page from edge-edge
shows the NI number
shows a full name and address details
shows the award end date OR the letter is dated within the last two years
has nothing else is in the photo - just the letter as above example
the text is legible to you

Step 3 - Upload your photo

In most cases an ADP/CDP letter taken correctly will be automatically approved and you will be taken to the payment screen to complete your Purpl membership subscription.

Tips on how to take a good photo

Good light, and no flash - the flash reflects off the letter surface.
Letter is flat on a surface, camera directly above it.
Check every line of text is legible before uploading.

My ADP/CDP document upload failed, what shall I do next?

Please do not upload the same photo again - it will fail.

Check the checklist above and then retake.

All failed documents go through to manual review and we will contact you with the reasons why or if it was due to the lighting and we were able to approve it manually you will receive a Welcome email.

I can't find my Scottish disability benefit letter, what can I do?

To request a copy of your Scottish disability payment award letter or proof of benefit, call Social Security Scotland for free at 0800 182 2222 (Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm) or use their online webchat. An adviser will verify your details and post a new copy of your determination letter to you.
