Key highlights

  • Morrisons has upgraded its More app with six personalised weekly offers, a barcode-scanning shopping list and easier ways to find products in-store.
  • The new features could make grocery shopping more manageable for people living with fatigue, mobility difficulties, ADHD or brain fog.
  • Eligible Purpl members can save 10% on Morrisons online grocery orders for home delivery or Click & Collect only. Minimum spend over £25, with a maximum saving of £12 per order. The discount cannot currently be used for in-store purchases.
  • One eligible £120 grocery shop could save £12, equivalent to the cost of an annual Purpl membership.
  • The Purpl discount is separate from the app’s personalised offers and must be redeemed on the Morrisons website, not through the app.

Morrisons has updated its More Card app with six personalised offers every week, a smarter shopping list and a tool to help customers find products more easily in-store.

The changes, announced on 15 October 2026, aim to make supermarket shopping simpler while helping customers save money on products they regularly buy.

If you live with a disability or long-term health condition, anything that reduces the planning, walking around or mental effort involved in the weekly shop could be particularly welcome.

And if you prefer to have your groceries delivered or ready to collect, there’s another way to save. Eligible Purpl members can get 10% off Morrisons online grocery orders over £25, saving up to £12 per order.

The Purpl offer is exclusively for online grocery orders placed for home delivery or Click & Collect. It cannot currently be used when shopping in-store, and the discount code must be entered on the Morrisons website, not in the app.

What’s changed in the Morrisons More app?

Morrisons has introduced three main improvements to its More Card app: six personalised weekly offers, a shopping list that scans product barcodes and an improved tool for finding products in-store.

The update focuses on making shopping easier to plan, helping customers find what they need and offering better value on familiar products.

Six personalised offers every week

Morrisons More app customers can now receive six offers each week based on their individual shopping habits.

Rather than everyone receiving exactly the same deals, these might include a percentage discount on particular products or additional More Points when you buy eligible items during the offer period.

The idea is to make offers more relevant to the things you’re already buying.

That’s potentially useful if you tend to buy the same essentials every week, especially if you rely on particular foods, household products or dietary items.

Of course, a personalised offer is only a saving if it’s something you actually need. It’s still worth comparing prices rather than assuming every offer is the cheapest option.

Scan products at home to build your shopping list

The new Morrisons shopping list lets you scan the barcode on a product at home and add it directly to your list for your next supermarket visit.

This is probably my favourite of the new features.

You know when you’ve just used the last of something and think, “I must remember to buy more of that,” only to forget by the time you get to the supermarket?

Now you can scan the empty packaging rather than trying to remember it later.

The app also organises products by aisle, making it easier to work out where you need to go when you’re in-store.

Find products more easily in-store

The Morrisons Price & Product Finder now appears on the app’s homepage, allowing customers to search for products, check prices and locate the correct aisle in their selected store.

It sounds like a fairly small change, but anyone who’s spent ages trying to find one particular item in a large supermarket will understand why it could be useful.

You can read more in the official Morrisons announcement from 15 October 2026.

Purpl Tip: If you regularly buy the same groceries, try adding products to your shopping list as they run out. It can be much easier than remembering everything in one go.

Why these changes could help disabled shoppers

The new Morrisons app features could make grocery shopping easier for some disabled people by reducing the need to remember items, search around stores and spend additional energy planning.

Food shopping isn’t always as straightforward as walking around the supermarket and putting things in a trolley.

For some disabled people, a supermarket trip means managing pain, fatigue, sensory overload or difficulties with standing and walking. For others, it’s the planning and remembering that can feel overwhelming.

I live with Multiple Sclerosis and ADHD, so I understand how something that seems quite simple can take more physical and mental energy than people realise.

On days when your energy is limited, the last thing you want is to spend an extra 20 minutes going backwards and forwards around a supermarket because you can’t find what you need.

Less walking and searching

The improved product finder could help shoppers with mobility difficulties or fatigue reduce unnecessary walking by showing where items are located in-store.

That could make a difference if you’re using a mobility aid, struggle with standing or need to manage your energy carefully.

Less to remember

The barcode-scanning shopping list could be particularly helpful for people with ADHD, brain fog, memory difficulties or cognitive fatigue.

Instead of relying on your memory, you can add something to your list as soon as you run out of it.

And having your list organised by aisle could make it easier to stay focused when you’re in a busy supermarket.

Making shopping more manageable, not necessarily fully accessible

These changes won’t solve every accessibility barrier.

They won’t make a crowded supermarket quieter, remove the physical effort of carrying groceries or guarantee that a product will be on the shelf.

And for some people, using another app might add to the mental load rather than reduce it.

But giving shoppers better information and easier ways to plan is a useful step.

Purpl Insight: Accessibility isn’t always about specialist equipment or major adaptations. Sometimes it’s about removing small barriers that make everyday tasks more exhausting than they need to be.

How to save 10% on Morrisons groceries with Purpl

Eligible Purpl members can save 10% on qualifying Morrisons online grocery orders over £25, with a maximum discount of £12 per order.

Morrisons has worked directly with Purpl since February 2025 to offer exclusive grocery discounts for the disabled community.

It’s a partnership we’re particularly proud of because food shopping is an unavoidable expense, and reducing that cost every week can make a genuine difference.

The partnership was also announced publicly by Morrisons, recognising the additional financial pressures disabled households face.

How much could you save on your Morrisons shopping?

The Purpl discount reduces the cost of eligible groceries by 10%, up to the £12 maximum.

Eligible grocery shopPurpl saving
£30£3
£50£5
£80£8
£100£10
£120£12

These examples assume the full basket qualifies for the discount and exclude any additional charges.

Saving £8 on a regular weekly order could add up to £416 over 52 weeks, if you used the discount every week and the offer continued on the same terms.

That’s why regular grocery discounts can be so valuable. You’re not spending money on something extra just to get a deal. You’re reducing the cost of food and essentials you already need.

One Morrisons shop could cover your annual Purpl membership

An eligible £120 Morrisons grocery order could save you £12, the same as the cost of Purpl’s annual membership.

Purpl membership costs £1 a month when paid annually (£12 a year), or £2 a month on a rolling monthly plan.

So, if you already spend around £120 on your grocery shop, one qualifying order could save enough to offset the entire annual membership cost.

And that doesn’t include the potential savings from using Purpl at other brands throughout the year.

Purpl provides access to discounts across groceries, household bills, technology, health products, travel and hundreds of other brands.

It’s about saving money on things you’re already buying, rather than spending more to get a discount.

Real savings from a Purpl member

Purpl member Sue, who lives with cancer, shared how she saves £48 a month on groceries by using her Morrisons discount.

She told us:

“I do a food shop twice a week and save £48 a month using the Morrisons code.”

That’s £576 over a year if she continues making the same monthly savings.

Sue also used Purpl to save money on a replacement freezer, showing how discounts on everyday essentials can add up.

You can read Sue’s full story here.

Purpl Tip: If you regularly order groceries online, check the Purpl discount before paying. Even a few pounds saved each week can make a noticeable difference over the year.

Who can get the Morrisons disability discount?

The Morrisons discount through Purpl is available to eligible disabled people, those living with long-term health conditions, and parents and carers who qualify for Purpl membership.

You don’t necessarily need to receive disability benefits or have a Blue Badge to join.

Purpl accepts several types of verification, including:

  • A Blue Badge or Disabled Person’s Railcard.
  • PIP, DLA, Attendance Allowance and other accepted disability benefit evidence.
  • An Access Card or Disabled Bus Pass.
  • An NHS diagnosis letter that meets Purpl’s requirements.

The key is being able to provide accepted evidence of an eligible disability or long-term health condition.

Parents and carers can also register using the disabled person’s evidence, subject to Purpl’s eligibility requirements.

If you don’t have one of the standard documents, there are alternative verification options.

You can check the full list in Purpl’s accepted document guide.

How do I join Purpl?

Joining Purpl involves three main steps: creating your account, verifying eligibility and choosing a membership plan.

Once your verification and subscription are complete, you can start accessing available member discounts.

You can browse the brands and offers before joining, so you can see whether Purpl would be useful for the things you regularly buy.

You don’t need to shop at Morrisons to benefit from Purpl. The Morrisons offer is just one example of the everyday savings available.

Check your eligibility and join Purpl

Purpl Insight: Lots of people assume disability discounts are only available to those claiming PIP or holding a Blue Badge. Purpl accepts a wider range of evidence because not everyone with a disability or long-term health condition receives disability benefits.

How to make your weekly food shop easier

You can make grocery shopping more manageable by planning your list throughout the week, checking product locations in advance and choosing home delivery or Click & Collect when shopping in-store is difficult.

The new Morrisons app features are useful, but there are a few other things worth trying if shopping takes a lot out of you.

  • Build your list throughout the week. Add things as you run out rather than relying on your memory to plan an entire shop.
  • If walking or standing causes pain or fatigue, look at home delivery or Click & Collect instead of doing a full supermarket visit.
  • Keep a list of your regular essentials. This saves you from starting your shopping plan from scratch every week.
  • Check personalised offers, but don’t feel you need to buy something just because it’s discounted.
  • Compare the final cost. Delivery charges, minimum spends and product prices all matter when deciding whether you’ve genuinely saved money.

Morrisons also offers Quieter Hours

Morrisons runs Quieter Hours in the majority of its stores, with reduced noise and lighting where possible, to provide a calmer shopping environment.

According to Morrisons, these typically take place:

  • Monday to Friday, 2pm to 3pm.
  • Saturdays, 9am to 10am.
  • Sundays, during the first hour of trading.

During these periods, stores aim to reduce unnecessary noise from music, announcements and checkout equipment.

This could be particularly helpful if you experience sensory overload, migraines, autism-related sensory difficulties or fatigue.

Check your local store’s arrangements before travelling, as availability may vary.

You can read more about Morrisons Quieter Hours.

Most importantly, don’t feel you have to shop in the same way as everyone else.

For some people, having groceries delivered is a convenience. For others, it can be what makes getting a weekly food shop possible.

Purpl Insight: Saving money matters, but so does saving energy. The most useful shopping option is often the one that works for your budget, your health and your everyday life.

For disabled shoppers, those smaller improvements could make planning and navigating stores less tiring, although everyone’s accessibility needs are different.

And if getting to the supermarket is difficult, online shopping and home delivery can help remove some of the physical challenges.

There’s also the opportunity to save money through Purpl.

An eligible £120 Morrisons food shop could save £12, enough to offset the cost of a full year’s annual Purpl membership.

For disabled people already managing higher everyday living costs, being able to save on groceries every week can make a real difference.

The new Morrisons app features may help with the effort of shopping. The Purpl discount helps with the cost.

Both are worth knowing about.
