What is Purpl?

Purpl is a disabled-led UK membership and community created to help disabled people and people living with long-term health conditions save money.

Welcome to Purpl the UK’s first money saving platform to help offset the cost of living with a disability or a long term health condition. 

Purpl was founded by Georgina, who came up with the idea in 2022 after realising that groups such as NHS workers, students and carers could access dedicated discounts, while disabled people were often left out - despite facing some of the biggest financial pressures because of the extra cost of living with a disability.

I’m Georgina, the founder of Purpl, and I live with both Multiple Sclerosis and ADHD. Because of this, I truly understand how expensive life can be when living with a disability. That’s why I launched Purpl with a clear vision: to help disabled people 'no matter what their disability is' save money and feel supported.

Who can join Purpl?

Anyone with a disability or long-term health condition recognised under the Equality Act 2010. That includes both visible and hidden disabilities, physical or mental health conditions, and long-term illnesses that affect daily life.

OR you can join as a parent or carer on behalf of someone with a disability (as long as you have their permission).

You must be over 16 to use Purpl. Please see our terms and conditions.

You just need one of our accepted documents.

What do I get as a Purpl member? 

Members can access discounts and exclusive offers from a wide range of brands, including savings on everyday shopping, food, travel, homeware, technology, health products and days out. 

Alongside our online discounts members can access in-store discounts via our Purpl app which has a digital membership card.

Members also get access to:

• Members only group on Facebook
• Savings tracker
• Monthly prize draws
• Brand competitions

On Purpl Life there are to guides and articles to support the disabled community along with the Purpl Disability Benefits and Support Handbook. These guides are free for anyone to access.

Why does Purpl verify members?

Purpl is a closed membership community created specifically for disabled people and those living with long-term health conditions.

Verification helps us:

• Protect the community from people who are not eligible
• Keep member-only discounts within the disabled community
• Give brands confidence that their offers are reaching the people they are intended to support
• Reduce the risk of discount codes being copied or shared publicly
• Secure better and more exclusive offers for Purpl members

Brands need reassurance that Purpl checks eligibility properly. Without verification, it would be much harder for us to negotiate meaningful disability discounts.
