New for 2026: Fun for the little ones!

This season features the highly anticipated arrival of Bluey the Ride: Here Come the Grannies! located in CBeebies Land. The world's very first Bluey rollercoaster sees Bluey and Bingo dressed up as the Grannies, Janet and Rita, getting up to some grannies-themed mischief in Bluey's backyard. Young fans will love whisking over gentle dips, around fun turns, and through colourful trees and playful surprises!

Conquer the Forbidden Valley

For the older thrill seekers, head over to the redeveloped Forbidden Valley to experience Toxicator - the park’s extreme suspended top-spin ride. Take hold and brace yourself because your world is about to be turned upside down. Suspended back-to-back with your legs dangling over a bubbling pool of "toxic" fountains, Toxicator spins riders into a powerful whirlwind of excitement and fear. It perfectly complements the legendary, recently reimagined Nemesis Reborn rollercoaster standing right alongside it.

The fun never ends at our fantasy-filled, imagination-fuelled escape that is Alton Towers Resort!

Pre-book your Merlin Ride Access Pass for Alton Towers

Merlin Entertainments has introduced a new digital Ride Access Pass (RAP) system to improve the experience for guests who may find traditional queueing difficult.

From 14 February 2026, selected UK theme parks including Alton Towers Resort, Thorpe Park, Chessington World of Adventures Resort and LEGOLAND Windsor Resort will use a digital RAP app. The app allows guests to manage RAP bookings and use virtual queueing via their mobile device, removing the need for paper timecards.

The RAP app is free to download on Apple and Android devices and uses a guest’s Nimbus Access Card to securely store their digital RAP ID.

Ride accessibility for disabled people and sensory information

For 2026, RAP allocations will be released in advance using a published allocation calendar to help guests plan visits more easily.

Merlin attractions will accept the following Nimbus Access Card symbols for RAP eligibility:

  • Difficulty Standing
  • Level Access
  • Urgent Toilet Needs

Further accessibility improvements across UK theme parks are planned throughout 2026, including enhancements to guest support, staff training and pre-arrival accessibility information.

Purpl members can get 10% off with our Access Card discount (£15 for three years) or apply for the Free Merlin Digital Access Pass

Please note that the Merlin Ride Access Pass pre-book does not include admission into the attraction. You will still need to book your day tickets or Merlin Annual Pass pre-book to show at entry.

Essential companion (carer) tickets for Alton Towers

Our rides and attractions have a variety of restrictions which are put in place to ensure our guest’s safety. Each ride has their own set of restrictions which must be adhered to at all times, some of which are due to ride restraints, forces or sometimes due to additional requirements if the ride has stopped and guests are required to exit before reaching the station.
