How membership subscription renewal works (dates, notice, auto-renew)

4 min readUpdated 4 August 2026

Your Purpl membership renews automatically - monthly or annually, depending on the plan you chose. You can check your renewal date, change your payment card, or turn off auto-renewal at any time in your account.

When am I charged?

Your membership renews automatically on the same date each month or each year, depending on the plan you picked when you joined:

  • Annual membership: charged once a year, on the anniversary of the day you joined.
  • Monthly membership: charged once a month, on the same date each month.

Purpl membership currently costs £1 a month paid annually, or £2 a month paid monthly. The exact amount you'll pay is always the price shown at checkout for the plan you selected.

If we ever change the renewal price, we'll tell you before it happens and let you know the date the new price applies from.

Do you let me know before you take payment?

If you are on the annual plan, we email you 7 days before your renewal date, telling you the amount that will be charged and when.

If you are on the monthly plan, we do not send a reminder before each payment - it comes out on the same date every month, and a reminder every fortnight would be more nuisance than help. You can always check your next billing date in your account.

These emails go to the address on your account, so it is worth making sure it is up to date and that our emails are not landing in your junk folder.

If you don't think you're receiving our emails, see Why am I not receiving Purpl emails?

If you subscribed through the App Store or Google Play, Apple or Google send the renewal notice rather than us.

Where can I see my renewal date?

On the website

  1. Sign in at purpldiscounts.com and go to Profile.
  2. At the top you'll see your membership card - Full Member, and Membership valid until your renewal date.
  3. For the full detail, select Manage Subscription, or on the app go to Profile > Billing.
  4. Under Subscriptions you'll see your plan, the price, "Your next billing date is…", and the card the payment will be taken from.

In the app

  1. Open the app and tap Profile.
  2. Tap Manage Subscription.
  3. This opens your secure billing portal in your browser, where you can see your renewal date, your plan and your payment card.

Please note: if you originally subscribed through the App Store or Google Play rather than through Purpl directly, Manage Subscription will take you to your Apple or Google subscription settings instead. Those subscriptions are billed by Apple or Google, and only you can change or cancel them from your store account - we're not able to do it for you.

How do I turn off auto-renewal?

You can cancel auto-renewal at any time. You'll stay a member and keep access to offers right up until your renewal date - cancelling doesn't cut you off immediately.

On the website

  1. Go to Profile, then Manage Subscription.
  2. Find your plan under Subscriptions and select turn off auto-renewal.
  3. Follow the steps to confirm.

Once it's switched off, your subscription will show as Ends [date] so you can see exactly how long you have left. Changed your mind? You can turn auto-renewal back on from the same page before that date.

In the app

  1. Tap Profile, then Manage Subscription.
  2. Cancel your renewal in the billing portal that opens.

If you subscribed through the App Store or Google Play, cancel through Settings > your name > Subscriptions on iPhone, or Play Store > Payments and subscriptions on Android.

Do I need to do anything before I renew?

You must have a valid verification document on renewal, if your account renews and your document has expired within you last subscription period it will need to be updated before you can access the discounts.

See Renewing when your document has expired for how to check and update it.
