The Purpl Community Grant Fund is a new quarterly initiative. It offers financial support to Purpl members with disabilities or long term health conditions.
Applications open on 1 April 2026. However, we limit each round, and we will select successful applicants in early July.
Living with a disability or long term health condition often brings extra costs. These costs are not always visible. More importantly, existing support does not always cover them.
For example, people often need mobility equipment, therapy, or accessibility adaptations. As a result, they have to cover these costs themselves.
Although support exists in the UK, it is not always enough. In some cases, it is hard to access. In others, it does not reflect real, everyday needs.
Because of this, we created the Purpl Community Grant Fund.
From the start, Purpl has aimed to do more than help people save money. Instead, the goal has always been to give back through practical support.
At the same time, we have always had a bigger vision. That vision is to build a foundation to support disabled people and their families.
So, the Purpl Community Grant Fund is the first step in that journey.
Through this fund, we provide financial support to members and their families. This support helps with essential needs, increases independence, and improves wellbeing.
Applications open on 1 April 2026. However, places are limited, so apply early to avoid missing out.
As Purpl grows, our impact will grow too. Ultimately, the goal is to deliver long lasting support for disabled people across the UK.

What is the Purpl Community Grant Fund (Purpl Fund)?
We created the Purpl Community Grant Fund to provide practical financial support for disabled people and families across the UK.
We know that living with a disability or long term health condition often brings extra costs. However, existing support does not always cover these needs.
For example, many people need help with mobility equipment, therapy, accessibility adaptations, or assistive technology. As a result, people often have to cover these costs themselves.
Because of this, we built the fund to offer direct, practical support where it matters most.
Rather than being a one off scheme, the fund runs on a quarterly basis, giving members ongoing opportunities to apply.
Purpl Tip: If you are not successful in one round, you can apply again in future quarters.
When can you apply?
Applications for the first round open today 1 April 2026.
- Applications are limited and will close once capacity is reached
- Successful applicants will be selected in early July 2026
- The fund runs quarterly, with future rounds planned throughout the year
Because applications are capped, it is important to apply early. The application link will close when the cap has been reached.
What support can the Purpl Fund provide?
The fund is designed to support practical needs that improve independence, wellbeing and quality of life.
This may include:
- Mobility equipment
- Therapy and wellbeing support
- Accessibility adaptations
- Assistive technology
- Support that enables greater independence
Purpl Tip: Focus your application on the impact the support will have on your daily life.
Who can apply?
You can apply if you:
- Are a subscribed Purpl member at the time of application and when receiving the grant
- Live in the UK
- Have a disability or long term health condition, or
- Are a parent or carer applying on behalf of an immediate family member
The person receiving the support must have a disability or long term health condition.
Purpl Tip: Make sure your membership is active before applying.
How the application process works
Applications follow a structured and fair process to ensure consistency.
Step 1 – Apply
Submit your application with details of your situation, needs and estimated costs.
Step 2 – Eligibility check
Applications are reviewed to confirm eligibility, including whether the request meets the funding criteria.
Step 3 – Scoring
Applications are assessed based on:
- Financial need
- Impact on daily life
- Urgency
Step 4 – Shortlisting
Applications are ranked and shortlisted.
- The shortlist is capped
- Applications are anonymised
Step 5 – Panel review
A panel reviews shortlisted applications to support fair decision making.
Step 6 – Final decision
Successful applicants are selected and contacted directly.
You can read more information on eligibilty, rules and FAQs on the website.
Purpl Tip: Clear, concise answers often score better than long or unclear responses.
How funding is allocated
Each quarter, we set a total fund of around £2,000 and distribute it across successful applicants. Because of this, we set the maximum request at that level.
- Funding amounts may vary
- We aim to support as many members as possible
- We assess each application based on need, impact, and available funding
There is a maximum request limit of £2,000, but awards may be lower so we can help more than one person in each round.
Purpl Tip: Request what you genuinely need rather than aiming for the maximum.
Important things to know
- Applications are limited per round and will close once capacity is reached
- The fund is discretionary and not all applications will be successful
- You must remain a subscribed member when receiving the grant
- Payments are typically made directly to suppliers
- The fund runs quarterly, providing future opportunities
Purpl Tip: Even if you are not successful, you can apply again next time.
