It’s part of our commitment to reinvest back into our member community, providing practical support where it’s needed most.

As the Purpl platform grows, so does the level of support we’re able to provide through the Fund.

Eligibility

Who can apply?

You may apply if you:

  • Are a subscribed Purpl member at the time of application and when receiving the grant
  • Live in the UK
  • Have a disability or long-term health condition, or
  • Are a parent or carer applying on behalf of an immediate family member

The individual receiving support must have a disability or long-term health condition.

How often can I apply?

  • You may only receive one grant within a 12-month period
  • If unsuccessful, you may apply again in future rounds

Funding rules

How much can I apply for?

  • The maximum request per application is £2,000
  • Applications must be within this limit to be eligible

If your request exceeds this amount:

  • Your application will not be progressed
  • In some cases, you may be invited to revise and resubmit

Is everyone awarded £2,000?

No.

  • The Fund is shared across successful applicants each quarter
  • Awards may vary depending on need and available funding

What can the Fund be used for?

The Fund may support:

  • Mobility equipment
  • Therapy and wellbeing support
  • Accessibility adaptations
  • Assistive technology
  • Education and independence support

What can’t the Fund be used for?

The Fund does not typically cover:

  • Living expenses
  • Debt repayment
  • Business costs
  • Retrospective claims (unless agreed in advance)

Application process

How does the process work?

Applications go through the following stages:

  1. Eligibility check
  2. Internal scoring (based on need, impact and urgency)
  3. Shortlisting
  4. Panel review
  5. Final decision

Are applications reviewed fairly?

Yes, we use:

  • A structured scoring system
  • An anonymised review process
  • A panel that includes independent members and Purpl representation

This helps ensure decisions are fair and consistent.

Is there a limit on applications?

Yes.

  • Each funding round is limited to a maximum number of applications (typically 100)
  • Applications will close once this limit is reached

This ensures every application can be reviewed properly.


Payment & suppliers

How are grants paid?

Where possible payments are made directly to suppliers

Can I choose my supplier?

Yes, but:

  • Purpl may review supplier suitability and pricing
  • We may suggest or require an alternative supplier
  • We may request additional quotes

This ensures value for money and reliable delivery.


Important conditions

Is the Fund guaranteed?

No:

  • The Fund is discretionary
  • Not all applications will be successful
  • Funding is limited each quarter

Do I need to remain a member of Purpl?

Yes, you must be a subscribed member when applying and when receiving the grant

What happens if my application is unsuccessful?
